Famous Peterhof fountains will open May 1st

Year 2012 famous fountains in Peterhof will be open for tourists since May 1st, 2012. However, the Grand opening will be held on May 19th, 2012. The fountains of the Grand Cascade are located below the grotto and on either side of it. During Grand Opening their waters flow into a semicircular pool, the terminus of the fountain-lined Sea Channel with musical accompaniment.

We advise you to use “Meteor” hydrofoil as the mean of transportation to Peterhof. You will travel from the center of the city – Palace Embankment through the Gulf of Finland to Peterhof and will go ashore in the Low Park of the “Russian Versailles” in 30 minutes.

Everyone is welcome to join marvelous and unforgettable festival!

Important! Entrance tickets to the Low Park and Grand Palace can be purchased only along with the guide services.

Brooklyn Local — A New Place to Visit

Not so long ago a new cafe “Brooklyn Local” opened in the center of the city. It’s interior is rather simple and cosy, and the cuisine is surprisingly well-thought-out so you can enjoy salads, American cakes, coffee, hot chocolate and various tea tastes.

Walking from the main street of St. Petersburg Nevsky Prospect you can drop in Brooklyn Local cafe, have a cup of good coffee with a blueberry bagel or falafel and cool out in a conditioned room. By the way, in case your order in 500 Rubles or more you will have a computer with Wi-Fi to check your e-mail or find an interesting sight on your way back to the city jungle.

Marvelous annual school graduates’ ball in St Petersburg

This Saturday, June 18th, we are happy to held annual graduates’ ball in St Petersburg called “Aliye Parusa” (Scarlet Sails).

All school graduates of our city will be celebrating important step in their life – school time is over and from now on they make their own choices, decisions and rule their life as students.

A huge concert will be shown on the Palace Square and the Basil Island during the whole Saturday evening and impressive fireworks and laser show on the Neva river will amaze all the guests at the end. You can enjoy the festival in the center of St Petersburg – Nevsky Prospect, Palace Square, Neva River, Troitskiy bridge, Palace bridge, etc. till the early morning June 19th.

The entrance to all the concert grounds is free of charge. Just join the celebrating city and feel the spirit of a new life!

Summer time fun in St Petersburg riding aqua taxi

You can enjoy the city’s views and sights using aquabus taxi on the Neva river. It is officially the second season our city offers such service. Those who don’t want to spend several hours in the traffic can easily use aqua taxi and experience 2 obvious advantages — cost of the taxi is around 100-150 Rubles one way per person (half cheaper for children) and almost all famous sights and bridges can be seen during these taxi rides.

Being a tourist in St Petersburg gives you a great opportunity to spend more time on the water as our city is well-known as “the city of islands”.

Swan Lake ballet May 19th at the Mariinsky Theatre

Swan Lake is undoubtedly fantastic and most famous ballet at the Mariinsky Theatre. It consists of three acts and lasts about 3 hours.
The music was written by well-known Russian Pyotr Tchaikovsky and choreography was staged by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov (1895).
For those who have already seen this show we still recommend to enjoy it once again. You will have a memorable time in the Mariinsky Theatre’s interiors watching the most popular ballet in the world.
